On Sunday my friend and I brought our boys to The City beach club. With a Cancun id, the entrance fee was only 50 pesos, but the regular price, 100 pesos (about 8 US Dollars) is pretty reasonable too. We figured we wouldn’t get a place to sit but after only a few minutes on a sandy place next to one of the pools we got one lounger and an umbrella, yay!

We all hung out in the water until we got chilly. Then we moved to our lounger and ordered food. The boys needed an appetizer.
They will ALWAYS eat crackers.
They will also always eat french fries!
After we ate (food was good yum) we got two more loungers and we were hoping the boys would play quietly in the sand next to them while we drank beer. My friend’s son did this (well not quietly but whatever lol). My niño was not as cooperative. He is suddenly afraid of sand. Huh? So he clung onto me for about an hour. The thing is, when he clings, he doesn’t sit still. He climbs, grabs, turns around, pinches, whines…well you get the picture! It’s probably all my fault anyway for changing his nap schedule so we could go. It was really fun to hold my giant almost 17 month old on my lap while in the bathroom.
My Cuba shirt is almost too small for me. Time for a new one!
Of course, my friend, as she is a good friend, also tried to help me entertain him.

Finally I got him to kind of sit on the empty lounger and play. They both loved the beach ball (and fought over it of course).

Then it was time for baby yoga.
My child is strange.
I don’t know what I’m going to do here in Cancun with a kid who is afraid of sand. I hope this too shall pass.

I tried to play with him in the sand, he wasn’t havin’ it. Next time I will build a castle though!
